David Carpe

Founder and Managing Partner 

For 5+ years prior to CSP, Dave was the Head of Product and Engineering Leadership (talent) at SignalFire.

Prior to SignalFire, Dave was the last Partner at ReedShay. After years working exclusively with Robin Reed, he ran ReedShay for 7 years after her retirement. He joined her after many years with Microsoft consulting to the Office of the CTO (and later the Office of the CSA).

Dave is an expert at applying competitive intelligence (“CI”) and technology insights to search strategies and has done this for global leaders like McKinsey, Microsoft, and the Gates Foundation, brands like TiVo, CREDO, and comScore, and countless startups.

Back when his hairline was excellent, he founded a VC-backed software startup, was a volunteer teacher with NFTE, worked on the trading floor at Fidelity Capital Markets, and was a Research Associate at Fidelity Capital. He graduated with a BFA (stone sculpture) from George Washington University and an MBA from Babson College. He’s also been rescuing dogs for as long as he can remember.

On topics of talent, CI, and research, he's provided expert commentary to many pubs ranging from Fortune, WSJ and the Boston Globe to Wired, CFO and the Sunday NY Times. He was also a longtime corner columnist for CI Magazine. Dave served on the advisory boards of Frrole (AI), JigSaw (Salesforce.com) and Conditor, LLC (iPhone), and currenty advises ApolloFactor (workforce analytics) and Hirize (HR tech).
